An Easter thought...

Doubting?

Just as impossible as it first was for Thomas – what makes it impossible for us? For Thomas – all was made possible when he could reach out and not just see, but touch Jesus.
What makes it possible for us to accept his resurrection?
Resurrection that changed history.
Resurrection that defies belief.
Resurrection that flouts with logic, which challenges our reason.
Resurrection that calls for faith.

The resurrection is the ultimate fulfilment of Immanuel – God IS with us. Not was, not once may have been a couple of thousand years ago – but here today in this room together, and in the darkest moments we could ever experience - IS with us. Thinking of Easter these next few days, what is it that makes it possible for us to believe?

A healing?
A personally-experienced salvation moment?
A friendship?
An answer to a cry for help?
An inexplicable moment of intimacy with the only King who died for his own subjects?

Wherever you are at this morning – celebrating with tears of joy or struggle – take that one thing that makes it possible and as we share in this meal together – what is your response to that one thing that makes you believe.

He is Immanuel. God with us.

Jesus. Our hope of heaven.
